Sadie Miller
This month, I’m thrilled to spotlight little Sadie Miller and share a story that’s near and dear to my heart. My husband, Clay, and Sadie's mom, Susie, go way back as best friends throughout school, which made this that more fun.
Susie and Clay spent countless summers competing at the Wood County Fair, their friendly rivalry fueling many jokes over the years. To this day, they laugh about how our kids might end up competing against each other someday. Now that we’re both raising families, those jokes feel all the more real, and it’s a joy to experience parenthood alongside them, even if we don't see each other very often.
Last summer, Clay and I attended Susie and Todd’s gorgeous wedding, a celebration filled with love and laughter. Fast forward and Susie soon discovered that she was pregnant. Susie reached out to me shortly after finding out she was expecting, and we immediately started planning her maternity session. In mid-September, I drove to Delta, OH, on a serene Sunday evening for what turned out to be a perfect session. We spent the hour capturing Susie’s glow in her final weeks of pregnancy and chatting about the anticipation and excitement of welcoming their first baby.
One day, Clay casually said, “I think Susie had her baby.” I couldn’t help but laugh because, true to form, he didn’t have any specifics. He had only seen a photo Susie had sent from the hospital. The next day, our guess was joyfully confirmed when we received a Snapchat of the most adorable baby girl, Sadie.
A couple of weeks later, Susie and Todd brought baby Sadie to my studio for her newborn session. This little one was a dream—so much hair, a sweet personality, and not a single tear throughout the session. Susie and I caught up on life while I watched her effortlessly transition into motherhood. It was clear she was born to be a mom.
Our session was filled with laughs, sweet moments, and pure joy as we celebrated Sadie’s arrival. Sadie, you are so loved, and I have no doubt you’ll do amazing things. See you at the Wood County Fair in a few years—I’m sure you’ll be stealing the show!
